GIFT EVENING
MISS V. KENNEDY HONOURED
.'GATHERING AT COROMANDEL.
A very happy evening was spent in the Oddfellows’ hall, Coromandel, on July 17, when the friends of Miss Valerie Kennedy gathered together to give her a gift evening prior to her approaching marriage to Mr Neil Davies.
About 30 relatives and friends were present and dancing and games were indulged in, considerable enthusiasm being- shown by all.
Just before supper the guests of honour accepted the many varied and useful gifts tendered to them with the best wishes of the donors. Mr Davies thanked everyone for their gifts and good wishes on behalf of Valerie and himself.
■Solos were sung by Mr D. Hardy and then a sumptuous supper was served and enjoyed to the accompaniment of much merriment.
Mrs Ngamare and Mrs. Lucas supplied the music for the dancing.
