FOREMAN’S REPORT
WORK DURING JUNE NEW PIPE LINE LAID PAEROA BOROUGH COUNCIL “The usual maintenance work has been carried out during the month. Patching and repairs have been done where required. • A ll stormwater drains have now been cleaned,” stated the forman, Mr R. Nield, when making his report to the July meeting of the Paeroa Borough Council. Streets:—
“Surplus shouldering on main highways has been removed and used as filling in Rye lane and Seymour street. The roadsides in Andrew street have been cleared and levelled-with filling used from the dragline working under the Criterion bridge. Reserves:—
“The cattle stop at the gate entrance to Primrose hill has been widened by four feet. Gorse and blackberries have been cut on reserves in Bennett street.
Water Supply:— “Seventeen and a half chains of one inch water pipe line has been laid from Towers street to connect up with the three quarter line from Kennedy street to Andrew street. This work was necessary owing to having no water main to Mr Button’s proiperty in Andrew street. Another one hundred and sixty feet of inch pipe has been used to connect .Mrs Brigham’s house in Thorpe street. This line had to come off the main in Normanby road. Sewer Maintenance: —
Sewer repairs have been heavy during the month, three major breaks having 'been repaired at the Catholic church, Rye lane ind Flora street. Sanitation: —
“Both dumps have received attention, considoerable work being done at the Junction, road depot,” concluded the report.
The report was adopted and approved by the council.
