A DANGEROUS POLE
REQUEST FOR REMOVAL
PAEROA BOROUGH TO PAY COST
A request ito have the power pole on the earner of the main (highway" and the old Te Aroha road shifted with a view to eliminating a possible danger to motorists at that locality was recently made by the Paeroa Borough Council to the Thames Valley Electric-Power (Board and at the July meeting of. the council a letter was received from the (power board stating that the cost of removal would amount to £6/3/-.
• The letter went on to state that providing the council would accept responsibility for that cost and authorise the work the board •would arrange for the work to be carried out.
The existence of the power pole in its present (position could very easily cause an accident, stated the mayor, Mir Edwin Edwards. Rhe council resolved to pay the amount required to cover cost of removing the pole and. to authorise the work, to 'be carried out.
