Mr R. Locke of Nethereton has recently been elected to the management committee of the Auckland District Pig Council at its annual meeting held in Pukekohe. The Methodist minister stationed at Ngatea, the Rev. A. Currie, has had’ to resign his (position, due to illhealth. Mr Currie has left the district to enter private work in Auckland. Four Paeroa boys, Owen Millar, Stewart Walmsley, Brian Wood and. Colin Wood (the last named being twin brothers) left Paeroa on Tuesday last to attend a course of military training at Papakura camp.
