ROADS AND HIGHWAYS
WORK ON HAURAKI PLAINS REPORT BY THE ENGINEER Work done on roads and 'highwayson the Hauraki Plains was reported upon as follows by the county engineer, Mr E. Hazeldine-Barber, to the May meeting of the Hauraki Plains County Council. , “All metal sections of have been graded. Sealed sections have been patched with cold emulsion and chips. A start has been made on levelling the sides of the OrongoNetherton highway at the southernend.
“Most roads were graded during the month. Maintenance metal is being delivered to the roads that are in most urgent need of same. A section of Mahuta road near Gubb’s corner has been widened and four nine inch culverts extended. Sealed roads have been patched with cold emulsion and chips.
