TOURNAMENT COMPLETED WINNERS OF KEITH CUPS The tournament for the Stanley Keith cups presented for competition among members of the Kaiaua Tennis Club have now been completed. Mrs B. de Jongh was the winner of the women’s handicap, the men’s handicap being won by P. Anderson. Details of play were:— Women’s handicap: First round, B. de Jongh ( —l5) defeated A. Lowry ( —l5), 7—6; I. Matuscka ( —3O) defeated H. Annan, 7—3; L. Solomon ( —3O) defeated J. Anderson ( —l5), 7—4. Semi-finals: L. Solomon ( —3O) defeated I. Matuscka ( —3O), 7—4; B. de Jongh ( —l5) defeated M. Solomon ( —l5), 7—4. Final: B. de Jongh ( —l5) defeated L. Solomon ( —3O), 7—6.
Men’s handicap: P. Anderson (30) defeated J. de Jongh ( —3O), 9—2; D. Anderson ( —3O) defeated S. Keith, 9—B; R. Lowry (15) defeated R. Norton, 9—4; P. Solomon (15) defeated B. Anderson, 9—2; G. Hopkins (30) defeated K. Solomon 9—4. Semifinal: R. Lowry (15) defeated D. Anderson ( —3O), 9 1 —8; P. Soloman (15) defeated P. Pulham, 9—7; P. Anderson (30) defeated G, Hopkins (30), 9 —5. Final: P. Solomon defaulted to R. Lowry; P. Anderson (30) defeated R. Lowry (15), 9—3. .
