PURIRI WOMEN’S INSTITUTE FIRST MEETING OF THE YEAR A good attendance of members marked the first meeting of the year for the Puriri Women’s Institute. A competition, for Mrs McGregor’s prize, was won by Mrs Oourtney, and a further competition, “Walking the tape blindfolded,” was won by Mrs Leamon. The monthly competition, a pot of plum jam, was won by Mrs Barrett, with Mrs Mclvor second and Mrs Edgecombe third. The points prize for posy made from flowers from a member’s own garden, was won by Mrs Edgecombe, with Mrs R. Robinson secqnd and third.
