WORK COMPLETED

TB KAUANGA WHARF SHED STILL TO BE RAISED The reconstruction of the Te Kauanga wharf had been completed, stated Mr J. T. Hinchco, county foreman, when making his report to the February meeting of the Coromandel County Council.

Mooring piles had also been driven. The work of enlarging and raising the wharf shed was still to be completed. Kapowai Ford

The crossing at McMahon’s on the Kapowai stream was now completed. It was now necessary to have the approaches constructed to give access to the ford. The foreman suggested that a bulldozer be engaged to do the excavating work when it was engaged to widen sections around the washout on the Kapowai road. Repairs had been effected to the small bridge at the junction of Cooks Bay and Purangi roads. The workmen in that area were at present engaged on general maintenance work. Topp’s Road

Arrangements for the metalling of Topp’s road were in hand and would be carried out as soon as cartage facilities were obtainable, stated the foreman.
