VEHICLES CHECKED TRAFFIC ON THE PLAINS DRIVERS FAIL IN TEST “A check was conducted by myself on Wednesday, February 15 and 22 of this month, and seven vehicles and their loads were weighed. Two traffic offence notices were issued during this
check for vehicles exceeding their axle-load. One warning was issued,” reported the traffic inspector, Mr. W. Hackett, to the March meeting of the Hauraki Plains County Council. The inspector’s report on traffic control on the Hauraki Plains during February continued as under:— “Fifteen applicants for. drivers licenses were tested. Of this number two failed because of their lack of knowledge of the regulations. Throe traffic offence notices were issued during the period. Seven warnings were issued for minor breaches of the regulations.
