Public notice is hereby given that it is the intention of the Coromandel County Council at a meeting to be held on Wednesday, 13th July, 1949, at the Council Chambers, Kapanga Road, Coromandel, in pursuance of and in exercise of its powers under the provisions of the Counties’ Act 1920, The Rating Act 1925, tjio Hospital and Charitable Institutions Act 1926, and of all other Acts or amendments thereto enabling, to make and levy the following rates: — In the Colville, Coromandel, Kuaotunu, Whangapoua and Whenuakite Ridings an Amalgamated rate of 3 5-8 d in the £ upon the Capital Value of all rateable property as appearing on the Valuation Roll for the time being in force for the aforementioned Ridings, such rate* to be in lieu of the following rates:— (a) A General Rate of 3 pence in the £. (b) A Hospital and Charitable Institutions Rate of Id in £. (c) A Special (Conversion loan of £6500) Rate of l-8d in £. In the Whitianga Riding an Amalgamated Rate of 3 l-8d in the £ upon the Capital Value of all rateable property as appearing on the Valuation Roll for the time being in force for the Whitianga Riding such rate to be in lieu of the following rates:— (a) A General Rate of 2Ad in £. (b) A Hospital and Charitable Institutions Rate of .Id in £. (c) A Special (Conversion Loan of £6500) Rate of l-8d in £. The aforesaid rates to be due and payable in one sum on the 15th August, 1949, to the Council’s Collector at the County Office, Kapanga Road, Coromandel. The aforesaid rates to be for the year commenced on 1/ 4 1949 and ending 31 3 1950. The Valuation Rolls and Rate Book will be open for inspection by Ratepayers at the County Office, Coromandel, during office hours. In accordance with the provisions of Sec. 64 of the Rating Act J. 925, a rebate of £4 per centum will be allowed to every ratepayer on the amount of the Amalgamated Rate payable by him struck for the year 1949 '5O if such rate is paid within 30 days of the due date.
