BADGES PRESENTED
BROWNIES AND GUIDES
FUNCTION AT WHITIANGA
The mothers of Brownies and members of the Mercury Bay Girl Guide Committee were present at a function in the hall at Whitianga recently, when a number ’of Brownies received badges and stripes.
Golden bars were presented to Sonia Lee, Margaret Oxley, Isabel Simpson, Desda Crabb. Two-year service stars were presented to Margaret Oxley, Sonia Lee, Harlean Lowe, Isabel Simpson, Fay Chaney, Desda Crabb. Margaret Oxley, leader of the Fairy six, and Desda Crabb, leader of the Pixie-, received two stripes, and Sonia Lee, the Fahies’ second, received or.e stripe. The Brownies had decoiated their " corners ” beautifully v ith flowira and pictures, and they were admired by the visitors. After games, Dorothy Lee recited “ When I was Six ” and Sonia Lee played a piano solo, “ The Flower Man,” and then &ongs by the pack brought the afternoon to a close. The committee served aftarnoon tea.
