HIKUTAIA CLEARING SALE HEIFERS TO £l9/10/Messrs G. W. Vercoe and Co. Ltd., report having held a very successful clearing sale on account of Mr Dennis Winfield of Maratoto road, Hikutaia. The stock offered came forward in good order and met with spirited bidding throughout, several of the cows making from £2O to £22. The complete herd averaged £l6 10s. Choice 2-year Jersey heifers sold to £l9 10s and averaged £l7 10s. Prices realised were as follows: — Choice dairy cows, £2O to £22; good, £l7 to £l9; medium, £l4 10s to £l6 10s; late calvei?, £lO 15s to £l2 10s; choice 2-year Jersey heifers, to £l9 10s; good Jersey and Jersey-cross heifers, £l6 5s to £l6 15s; good Jersey heifer calves, £8 7s 6d; 5-year pedigree Jersey bull, 30 gns.
