IN PURIRI RANGES

NO TRACE FROM AIR

THOROUGH SEARCH MADE

What was thought to probably be

the wreckage of a plane was seen by two Thames lads, E. Gedye and Martin, when pig hunting recently in the ranges near Puriri.

The matter was lepor'.ed to the police at Thames and to Flying Control, Auckland. This information was given by Mi' A. E. Davis to members present at the annual meeting of the Hauraki Aero Club. Air Davis suggested that what had been seen might possibly have been the wreck of a plane, piloted by a Cambridge flyer, which had been reported as missing some time ago and which had not as vet b.een located.

The latest information available was that Flying Control, Auckland, had organised a thorough search from the air and no trace of any plane had been seen.
