BIG BRIDGE AT COLVILLE TEMPORARY REPAIRS EFFECTED The condition of the Colville big bridge was the subject of a report at the April meeting of the Coromandel County Council, it being reported that the sill of one end had completely gone and that temporary repairs had been effected. Mr A. S. Sutherland, M.P., had seen the structure while on his recent visit to the Colville area, and he tiad advised a fresh application for a free grant for ’a new bridge, stating that he would do all in his power to support it. After discussion it was proposed by Cr. J. H. Reddy and seconded by Cr. A. J. Denize, “ that Mr A. S. Sutherland be written to enclosing a letter to the Minister of Works making fresh application for a free grant to enable a new bridge to be erected.” This was carried.
