Public Notices A nzac D ay UNITED COMMEMORATION SERVICE APRIL 25, 1949 2 1.45 p.m.: Parade to be assembled at Post Office Square under command of Lt.-Col. J. H. Bartlett :— Returned Servicemen Home Servicemen Cadets Fire Brigade St. John Ambulance Girl Guides Boy Scouts Scholars of Paeroa District High School, Scholars of St. Joseph’s Convent School, Brownies and Cubs will assemble at the Cenotaph. 2 p.m.: The Parade led by the Paeroa Municipal Band will leave the Post Office and proceed via Normanby Road through the Arney Street entrance to the Cenotaph. Saluting Base: His Worship the Mayor will take the salute as the Parade passes the Borough Council Chambers. 2.15 p.m.: Public Commemoration at the Cenotaph. “ The National Anthem ” led by the Paeroa Municipal Band. Floral tributes placed, in which all are invited to participate. Floral tributes placed on the Bradford Memorial by Veterans of the South African War. Announcing of Hymns: Major P. T. Liddy. Hymn: “Lead Kindly Light.” Prayer: Rev. J. A. Daglish. Scripture lesson: Ven. Archdeacon W. G. H. Weadon. Short Address: Mr R. J. Harris. Hymn: “ Abide With Me.” Benediction: Rev. L. G. B. Whitehead. “ Last Pest,” Band. “One Minute’s Silence.” “Reveille,” Band. Collection boxes will be placed at the top of the hill and at the entrance gate to receive donations in aid of the Returned vicemen’s Association Relief Fund. Motor cars must not park in the Domain nor will they be allowed inside the gates after 2 p.m. Limited seating accommodation will be provided for , elderly people. In the event of the weather being wet the Service will be held in the Regent Theatre and the public will be invited to place wreaths in front of the stage. EDWIN EDWARDS, Mayor.

HAURAKI PLAINS COUNTY COUNCIL ANZAC MEMORIAL SERVICE All citizens and organisations of the Hauraki Plains county are requested to attend an Anzac Service to be held in the Ngatea Public Hall on Monday, April 25, at 11 a.m. The service will be preceded by a parade of returned service personnel who are asked to assemble at 10.45 a.m. C.
