WARM WELCOME
MR E. A. MAHONEY PRESENT
PLAINS COUNTY COUNCIL
A warm welcome was extended by the chairman, Mr C. W. Parfitt, when the county clerk, Mr E. A. Mahoney, attended the April meeting of the Hauraki Plains County Council. Mr Mahoney has been ill for some months and Mr Parfitt expressed pleasure that he was fit enough to attend the meeting to assist the council in the consideration of the estimates for the year. He expressed the hope that Mr Mahoney’s visit to Rotorua had resulted in his recovering his full health. He thanked Mr Mahoney for making the effort to be present at the council meeting on Such an important occasion.
Mr Mahoney thanked the chairman for his kind remarks and congratulated the acting county clerk, Mr L. L. Jones, on having balanced his accounts for the year ending March 31, 1949 in time for the first meeting of the council following March 31. He was, he said, only too pleased to assist the council in every way possible.
