BREEZY STORY
“ALIAS A GENTLEMAN* PROGRAMME AT REGENT* HUMOUR, DRAMA, ACTION M-G-M’s “ Alias a Gentleman * which will show Tuesday and Wednesday at the Regent Theatre, is a breezy story which divides its hpmour and drama evenly. Wallace Beery stars as an ex-crook who decides to become a gentleman with the aid of his accumulated savings. Involved are Tom Drake, playing an ex-prison pal of Beery’s, and Dorothy Patrick, a down-on-her-luek actress who poses as Beery’s daughter in an attempt to ferret out informa--tion as to the source of hie wealth. In the final outcome, the redoubMd* Beery, as usual, comes out on top and romance envelops Drake and Miss Patrick, but not before you have been served plenty of rough-and-tumMa antics, exciting pistol play, and a hug* platter of laughs from this entertaining screen menu.
