BABY CHRISTENED
SUSAN CLAIRE MANSON CEREMONY AT ST. PAUL’S The christening of Susan Claire, baby daughter of Mr and Mrs R. H. Manson of Paeroa, took place in St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Paeroa. Miss Gwen Mitchell of Sydney and Mr Allan Boulton of Paeroa were the godparents, while the Venerable Archdeacon W. G. H. Weadon officiated. Susan, who is just four and a half months old, wore a gown of white lace and marquisette, which had been made by her godmother and sent from Australia a few days before the ceremony. A silver porringer and silver christening mug, both suitably inscribed, were presented by Miss Mitchell and Mr Boulton. After the ceremony, a cocktail party was held at the home of Mr and Mrs R. L. Darley, where some 30 guests were entertained. Susan’s mother guided her hand as she cut the christening cake, which was the top tier of Mr and Mrs Manson’s wedding cake. Among the guests were the baby’s grandparents from Australia, Mr and Mrs Arthur R. Watson.
