PRESIDENTS FOURS V MATCHES WITH THAMES . TEAM FOR CLOTHIER SHIELD A further round of the president’* fours competition whs played on Saturday by members of the Paeroar Bowling Club. Results were as follow: W. Parianson, F. A. Ryde, J. Turnbull and L. Gibb (skip) 19, defeated T. Wilkinson, J. Donald, J. K. Dean and R. A. Lindsay (skip) 17; T. Fulton, W. Harold, L. Matthews and C. Pascoe (skip) 22, defeated E. Pett, S. Nichole, W. E. Tubman and W. R. Pirie (skip) 21; F. McQuillam, T. Cleaaby, S. Markovich and G. Masters (skip), 34, defeated Pat Morrison, L. Roberts, H. Morgan and T. Pye (skip) 16; C. Bolton, L. Richards, D. G. Sinclair and L. V. Landman (skip) 21, defeated P. Ryan, D. Murdoch, J. H. Bartlett and T. L. Williams (skip) 18. The following teams have been selected to represent Paeroa at To Aroha next Saturday in the Clothier Shield competition which commences at 8.30 a.m.: F. McQuillam, L. Gloyn, L. Gibb and R. A. Lindsay (skip); G. Masters, W. E. Tubman, E. E. Faulkner and P. A. Plummer (skip); J. K. Dean, J. H. Bartlett, R. Buckxell and T. Pye (skip). ONE DAY TOURNAMENT SUCCESSFUL PAEROA TEAMS A very successful one-day bowling tournament wag held on the Paero* green recently when sixteen different teams competed. At the end of five games three Paaroa teams were unbeaten, namely F. McQuillam, T. I. Jenkins, G. Bain and G. Masters (skip), G. Speechley, N. Bayliss, F. J. Donald and T. L. Williams (skip) and D. G. Sinclair, J. H. Bartlett, R. Buckrell and T. Pye (skip). In the first play off T/L. Williams beat T. Pye while in the final G. Masters beat T. L. Williams. The Paeroa junior and senior ehampion pairs played elimination games in the centre champion of champion* pairs. The senior team won two games. On Saturday, February 26, the first and second rounds of the champion of champions singles will bd played on the Paeroa green.
