SENIOR TOURNAMENT MATCHES AT WEEK-END DRAW FOR JUNIOR TOURNEY Part of the Hauraki Plains senior tennis championship and handicap tournament was played at Ngatea last Saturday; further games will continue at Ngatea on March 5. Results of last Saturday’s play were:—

Open singles, semi-finals: Miss J. Sear defeated Mrs Dibble, 6—5, 5—6, B—6.

Men’s open singles: W. Stretton 9 defeated A. Price 5; D. Troughton 9 defeated G. Yeager 6; G. Douglas 9 defeated W. Stretton 6; R. Paton 9 defeated J- Murray 6.

Men’s handicap singles: Beagley 9 defeated T. Dews 5; Murray 9 defeated H. Trough ton 2; Dews 9 defeated Murray 3. Men’s handicap doubles: Beagley and Murray 9 defeated Bartley and Thompson 3. Open combined doubles: G. Yeager and Mrs Olsen 9 defeated B. Hegh and Miss Sear 8; A. Price and Mrs McCollum defeated J- Duffy and Miss Booth (no score available). Handicap combined doubles: Madgwick and Mrs Madgwick defeated Harris and Mrs Brown; Bartley and Mrs Thompson 9 defeated Price and Mrs McCollum; Reid and Mrs Dibble 9 defeated Hegh and Miss Sear 6.
