PIGS DAMAGE DRAIN
FENCE NEEDS REPAIRING REPORT TO DRAINAGE BOARD Damage which was being done to the batter of the drain at Prices floodgate was the subject of a report by the foreman, Mr W. Johnson, to the February meeting of the Hauraki United Drainage Board. The foreman stated that the fence was down for a few chain near Mr Yelavich’s cowshed. He had contacted Mr Yelavich and explained to him that his stock were damaging the drain and also that he would have to keep his pigs out of it. Mr Yelavich had explained that he had a sharemilker on the farm and that he had not been down to the bottom end of his property for some time. The board decided to write to Mr Yelavich asking that he carry out the necessary repairs to Price’s drain and that his pigs be kept out of the drain in future.
