KEREPEHI FAREWELL
«. COMBINED GUILD FUNCTION MR & MRS KEARNS HONOURED The monthly meeting of the Kerepehi Combined Guild was held on February 9 with Mrs H. Innis presiding over a good attendance of members. Mrs W. Kearns, who had been a keen and active secretary for several years, tendered her resignation, as she was leaving the district. Her resignation was accepted with deep regret and Mrs C. Martelli was elected in her stead. Arrangements were made to hold a harvest festival in March. The competition for the month was won by Mrs Martelli. Rev. Hart, on behalf of the session, management, guilds and congregations of the Hauraki Plains Methodist and Presbyterian churches, in presenting Mr and Mrs Kearns with an electric jug, expressed general regret at losing two such active workers, as all knew how much both had done for the churches and it would be hard to *replace them. He concluded by wishing them good luck and happiness in their new home. The president, Mrs H. Innis, made a presentation on behalf of the Kerepehi branch of the Combined Guilds. She expressed the appreciation and thanks of the guild for the untiring work done by Mr and Mrs Kearns and wished them a happy future. Mr and Mrs Kearns thanked the speakers for their kind remarks and for the lovely gifts and good wishes, stating that it was always a pleasure to work for the welfare of the churches. A delicious afternoon tea was then served by Mesdames Collins and Reddy.
