USE OF WHEY

ONE CENTRAL FACTORY SUGGESTION FOR THE PLAINS That Mr H. H. Hicks of Turua, who is at present visiting England, was investigating the question ef the utilisation of the company’s whey and the manufacture of byproducts was announced by the acting-chairman, Mr C. K. Fox, at the annual meeting of the Hanraki Phtins Co-operatice Dairy Company Limited, held at Turua on Thursday, in answer to a question from Mr J. Pye. Mr Fox expressed the opinion that the erection and operation of a factory to use the factory’s whey would be too expensive for the company by itself. He said he thought that what would eventuate would be the erection of a ■ factory at a central site to handle all the whey from all the factories on the Hauraki Plains.
