KITCHEN EVENING

TURUA FUNCTION MISS W. ELVIN & MR D. CROOKS A number of fiiends attended the kitchen evening held in Turua in honour of Miss W. Elvin and Mr D. Crooks. Mrs E. Clark, Miss G. and Mr B. Fox and Mr A. Whitehead supplied the music, Mr F. Marshall proving a very capable M.C. Mr H. Gray sang “ Underneath the Willow Tree ” and also danced the hula. After a dainty supper, Mr Marshall called upon the guests of honour to accept the many and varied gifts which carried with them all good wishes from the people present. Among those present were Mesdames Elvin, Murphy, F. Marshall, L. Peterson, F. Gray, Davies, B. Burke, N. Mitchell, A. Whitehead, E. Clark, J. Pye, C. Scott, H. McCrory, B. Fox. Misses N. Elvin, Monkley (Thames), M. Crawford, M. Chinnery, M. McMillan, H. Tapp, F. and T. Marshall.
