BOWLING CLUB EVENING ITEMS. GAMES AND DANCING A ven joliy evening, spent in games ami dancing, was held by the Paeroa Bowling Club in the Parish hall, as a fitting wind-up to the season’s activities and as an expression of the chib’s appreciation of the work of the retiiing prei-ident and his wife, Mr and Mr> J. Turnbull. Mr Tin r.bull welcomed all those pre.'cnt, and at the supper adjoinment Mr G. Masters, senior vice-president, spoke of the wonderful way Mr and Mrs Turnbull had carried out thenduties over the last season.

There was a good crowd present and Mr W. Pirie was a capable M.C. Items were presented by Miss Noeline Tubman and Mr I- Denton (brackets of songs); Mr R. Clark and Mr Pirie gave a conjuring turn. Accompanists were Mrs J. L. Brown, Mrs P. Ryan and Mr E. Kahn. Mr D. G. Sinclair's teams for the “ Tour of Canada,” comprising of members of the club under various amusing nom-de-plumes, proved very popular and drew forth divers comments. The Monte Carlo was won by Mrs L Denton and Mr G. Bain; “ Cuddles ” by Mrs V. Bagge and Mr G. Bain, and the spot waltz by Mr and Mrs P. A. Plummer. The very enjoyable social was brought to a close by all joining hands and singing “ Auld Lang Syne. ’
