ANZAC DAY SERVICE PATETONGA CEREMONY ROLL OF HONOUR UNVEILED There was a large gathering in the Patetonga hall on April 25 for the Anzac Day service and the unveiling of the Patetonga roll of honour. Mr J. F. Mayn, chairman of .the Patetonga Social Farewell Committee, introduced Rev. A. J. Handyside of Ngatea, who took the service, and Mr C. W. Parfitt, chairman of the Hauraki Plains County Council, who unveiled the roll of honour. A solo, “ Forward to Christ,” was rendered by Mr G. Pinnock of Ngatea. The Patetonga Social Farewell Committee handed over the custody of the roll of honour ttf the local branch of the R.S.A. Mr S. Anderson, president of the R.S.A., suitably replied.
Wreaths were laid by the R. S. A., Mr N. Whiteman, Mrs Appleby, Kaihere Women’s Institute, Kaihere School and Mrs C. Mclndoe.
Afternoon tea was served by members of the committee.
