NEW DRAINAGE BOARD
KOMATA SOUTH REQUEST
DECISION OF COUNTY COUNCIL
A petition from ratepayers of Komata south was received at the last meeting of the Ohinemuri County Council. It requested the formation of a drainage area for the district and that a dragline be used to clean the drains ih order to give immediate relief.
Cr. A. F. Thorp: I think that we should give them every assistance to form a drainage area, but to have their drains re-conditioned they would have to approach the Public Works Department. A resolution that every assistance he given for the formation of a drainage board for that area but that it was impossible for the council to carry out the work of excavating drains with a dragline on account of the cost, was passed.
