Williams, to the April meeting of the Hauraki Plains County Council. The report continued: — “ I concentrated on blackberry in all parts of the county. The general response is still quite good with exceptions, of course, in various parts. Atlacide sales amounted to about one and a half tons, all of which is to be used for the spraying of blackberry. Fennell at Turua “ I inspected the river frontage at Turua and found a good crop of fennell. As operations under Government grant ceased on March 15, I will not be able to clean this up for some time. “As requested, I called on Mrs Appleby of Patetonga. To assist her labour problem I offered to take a county employee out, but as yet my offer has not been accepted. Bathurst Burr “ Where necessary I contacted offenders with Bathurst burr. A number of plants have been noticed on Orchard East and Waitakaruru roadsides. “ The man employed under Government grant wag working on Waitakaruru canal. The working year finished on March 15. Work will commence again as soon as further grant is made available.”
