Captain W. Jennings of Auckland was a recent visitor to Kerepehi as the guest of Mr and Mrs J. Shilton jnr.
His Worship the Mayor, Mr Edwin Edwards, left Paeroa for Auckland on Sunday night, travelling by plane the next morning to Christchurch. After spending one night there he took the train to Dunedin in order to attend the annual conference of the Municipal Association. He returns to Auckland by plane on Monday, April 19, and will be back in Paeroa the following day.
Mr J. C. Silcock, formerly of Pipiroa, has now taken up residence at Mangakino, where Mr Silcock has already commenced his new duties on the staff of the Mangakino school. His keenness for sport has already become apparent evidently, as he has been appointed coach to the senior Rugby team as well as to the school A team.
Dr. F. L. Clark of Paeroa has been appointed registrar at the obstetrics and gynaecology unit at the Cornwall hospital, Auckland. He will commence duty on April 26.
