HOCKEY CLUB BALL

FUNCTION AT WAITAKARURU

TWO PRESENTATIONS MADE

The Waitakaruru Hockey Club held its ball in the Waitakaruru Hall recently. The hall was very attractively decorated, the letters W.H.C. were displayed at the back of the stage while the rest of the decorations were carried out in shades of red and white. There was a good attendance. The Jolly Millers’ Orchestra was in attendance and the duties of M.C. were carried out ‘by Mr Bill McLennen. Miss Norma Cole made two presentations, one to Mr Arthur Flay for coaching the team and for acting as referee for all the hockey matches during the season, and the other to Mrs Rawson for her help with the afternoon teas.

A very delightful supper was served. Monte Carlo waltz winners were Mr Trevor Billings and Miss Valerie Duffin. Competition winners were Mr Colin Burke and Miss Bennet.
