The first matches in the Thames Valley Lawn Tennis Association competitions were played during the weekend. The weather was good and the Hauraki Plains sub-association was successful in obtaining a win in the B grade games for the Mills. Cup by defeating Paeroa Railway 12 to 6, and in the C grade games for the Lee Cup by defeating Thames 17 to 1. Detailed results were as follows:—
