Public notice is hereby given that the following Resolution, passed at a Meeting of the Thames Valley Electric-Power Board, held on Tuesday, 4th day of November, 1947, and intended to operate as a ‘Special Order, will come before the Board for confirmation at a Meeting to be held on Tuesday, 2nd day of December, 1947, at 12 noon at the Board’s Office, corner of Bridge and Lipsey Streets, Te Aroha. That the Thames Valley

Electric-Power Board, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by " The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1926,” “ The Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926,” Section 15 of “The Finance Act No. 2,1936,” and all other powers and authorities thereunto enabling it, doth hereby resolve, by way of Special Order to raise a Special Loan of £20,000, to be known as “Redemption Loan, 1948,” to provide additional moneys for the purpose of redeeming at maturity, the outstanding liability in respect of the Electricity Loan, 1936, £75,000; portion £30,000. That for the purpose of securing the payment of interest and principal of the said Special Loan, a special annually-recur-ring rate of l-40th of a penny in the pound (one fortieth) will be made and levied upon the Rateable Value (on the basis of the

Capital Value) of all Rateable Property within the whole of the Thames Valley Electric-Power District. . That the term for which the said Loan or any part thereof may be borrowed shall be 15 years. That interest on the said Loan shall be payable at a rate not exceeding £3 2s 6d (Three Pounds Two Shillings and Six Pence) per centum per annum. That the said Special Loan or any part thereof, together with interest thereon, shall be repaid by equal aggregate yearly or half-yearly instalments extending over the term of the Loan. >That no portion of the interest on or the cost of raising the said Loan shall be paid out of the Doan. K . pursuant to Section 15 of “ The Finance Act, Na. 2, 1936,” the Board proposes to raise the Loan by Special Order, and

public notification is hereby given that a Poll of Ratepayers is required if not less than five per centum of the Ratepayers in the Thames Valley Electricpower District so demand by writing under their hands delivered or sent by post, to the Thames Valley Electric-power Board at any time before the 2nd day of December, 1947. A certified Copy of the above Resolution is deposited at the Public Office of the Board, corner Bridge and Lipsey Streets, • Te Aroha, and at the Office of the Local Authority of each Constituent District situated within the Thames Valley Elec-tric-power District, and is open to the inspection of the Public for a period of twenty-one days . immediately preceding the 2nd day of December, 1947. 7 R.
