ILLICIT SALES
FROM PILLAGED CARGOES WARNING AGAINST HANKERS i Over the past few weeks there ! has been a marked incidence the sale of goods pillaged from overseas vessels in areas adjaceaf to the Hauraki Plains. Dress Mid suit materials have been sold by unlicensed hawkers, and it is on well for country residents to Use cautious of having dealings oar transactions with unfamiliar canvassers. Complaints have been received of the disposal of goods in that manner. Although door-to-door salesmen might be genuine there should be special care taken, in the country districts. At present there has been nothing of that nature reported to the Paeroa police, -but the co-opera-tion of the general public is heede© to stamp out that type of theft should there be any occurrence Of illicit sales in the district.
