BUOYANT MARKET EVIDENT
KEEN DEMAND & FIRM PRICES
There was evidence of a buoyant market the Otago Farmers’ Cooperative Association of New Zealand Limited’s last rabbitskin . sale when prices showed a substantial increase in comparison with the previousauction held on June 4.
An exceptionally large catalogue was submitted to the buyers , who operated freely, and bidding was verybrisk. A keen demand for all grades was maintained throughout the sale and values as compared with the last sale may be quoted firmer as follows: —
Lower grades, 6d to 12d per lb.; autumns, 4d to 'Bd; early winters, 6d to 29d; lower winter grades, 2d to 12d; medium winter grades, 8d to 15d; furrier winters, 12d to 25d. Blood-stained grades were 6d to 24d per lb. firmer. The following was the range of prices: Third broken, to 63d; 2nd broken, to 134 d; Ist broken, to 141 d; milky, to 60d; summers, 653 to 74d; dawny autumns, to 123 d; early autumns, 128 d to 138 d; late autumns, and incomings, 140 d to 155 d; spotty autumns, 12 Id to 126 d; spotty incomings, to 134 d; early winters, 140 d to 199 d; 2nd winter bucks, 152 d to 171 d; 2nd winter does, 145 d to 196 d; Ist winter bucks, 169 to 190 d; Ist winter does, 190 d to 215 d; autumns, fatty, to 115 d; winters, fatty, to 127 d; 4th spotty bucks, 199 d to 116 d; 4th spotty does, 12fld to 121 d; 3rd spotty bucks, to 131 d; 3rd spotty does, to 131 d; 2nd spotty bucks, 133 d to 147 d; 2nd spotty does, 139 d to 147 d; Ist spotty bucks, to 159 d; Ist spotty does, to 160 d; weevilly, 36d to 40d; 3rd blacks, to 57d; 2nd blacks, to 128 d; Ist blacks, to 170 d; 3rd fawns, to 99d; 2nd fawns, to 139 d; Ist fawns, to 170 d; hareskins, 120 d to 150 d; horsehair, to 343 d.
