Public Notices piAKO (J OUNTY C OUNCIL CLOSING TO HEAVY TRAFFIC AWAITI-TIROHIA ROAD Public notice is hereby given that at a meeting of the Piako County Council held in the Council Chambers, Kenrick Street, Te Aroha, on the 19th May, 1947, the undersigned resolution was passed:— In pursuance of the powers conferred upon it by the provisions of Clause (g) Section 121 of the Public Works Act, 1928, and Clause (3) of Regulation 7 of “ The Heavy Motor Vehicles Regulations, 1940,” and upon the grounds stated, . the Piako County Council prohibits the use of any Heavy Motor Vehicle upon that portion of the Awaiti-Tirohia Road within the boundaries of this County, when the weight of such vehicle itself exceeds 2 tons, or the weight of such vehicle with its load exceeds 2 tons.

This prohibition shall not apply to lorries collecting milk and/or cream, while so doing; and shall commence to operate on the 26th day of May and shall continue to operate until further notice. The said prohibition is imposed upon the grounds that the surface of the said road would be seriously damaged if permitted, for the period specified, to bear the traffic of the heavy motor vehicles the use of which is hereinbefore prohibited.
