TE AROHA BEATEN INDOOR BASKETBALL CLOSELY CONTESTED GAMES On Tuesday night the. Paeroa Indoor Basketball Club travelled to Te Aroha to take part in a series of club and representative games. The Paeroa representative team again proved its superior combination in a thrilling and closely contested game. P. Fathers and I. Grant were the most outstanding players on the court and at times their perfect co-operation had the Te Aroha defence completely beaten.

The ladies’ representative game resulted in Te Aroha beating Paeroa by a big margin. The. team work of the Te Aroha ladies proved the deciding factor of the match.

Although the Paeroa club won five matches to Te Aroha’s four the small court at Te Aroha severely cramped the style of the Paeroa players who have been accustomed to playing on a court twice the size. The results of the games with Te Aroha names mentioned first, were as follows:—

Barbarians 22 beat Rangers 8, Meteors 12 beat A.C.A. 6, Kiwis 10 lost to Borstal 26, Te Aroha West 15 lost to Netherton 24, G.B.C. 10 lost to Dodgers 12, Meteors 5 lost to Netherton 0, G.B.C. 12 beat Rovers 3. Representative matches: Men, Te Aroha 14 lost to Paeroa 16. Ladies: Te Aroha 30 beat Paeroa.7.
