The service will be purely an' express one, carrying no parcels, mails or papers, thus giving the Thames, Coromandel and Mercury Bay public a fast service to and from Auckland. The service also connects with the Wellington Express and the Limited to and from Auckland.

In order that the Coromandel and Mercury Bay public will have sufficient time to catch this bus from Thames, the Coromandel and Mercury Bay timetables will be advanced 15 minutes, i.e. the Coromandel car will leave Coromandel at 8.45 a.m. and the Mercury Bay car will leave Mercury Bay at 8.30 a.m. Passengers travelling from Auckland to Coromandel or Mercury Bay can either leave Auckland at 8.30 a.m. or 11.30 a.m. Both timetables will connect with these services.
