PROPERTY DAMAGED BY FIRE R EIS ID EIN T LODGES PRO TE ST A complaint from 'Mr C. W. Hovell was received by the Coromandel County Council at its 1 May meeting stating that lorries were dumping rubbish of all descriptions on the main road by his property.
Recently a fire had broken out in the dump, which had burnt his fruit trees and would have burnt his hayshed had he not been at home and had a tank full of water. He asked the .council to move in the matter, failing this he would take legal action.
It was resolved that Mr Hovell be written to asking if he had any idea who the offenders were in which case asking him to inform the council, which would take the necessary action.
