A WET MONTH
HEAVY RAIN IN PAEROA ALMOST DOUBLE AVERAGE RECORDINGS TAKEN IN APRIL Although in the early months of the year rainfall in Paeroa was much below average the total for the month just ended, 7.09 inches was nearly double the average for April, 4.20 inches taken over the las t 32 years. The rainfall in April last year was only 2.69 inches. The tot?.! rainfall to date this year is only 12.44 inches comptred with 17.09 inches for the same period last year and an average for the period taken over the last 33 years of 15.42 inches. Rain fell on 15 days during the month, the heaviest being recorded on April 22 when the total was 2.22 inches. Sunshine was recorded on 10 days, the reading being taken at 8 a.m. each day. Barometric pressure showed little ■fluctuation, the lowest recording being 2i9.39 inches in April 10, while the highest was registered l at 30.18 inches on April 28. There was considerable valuation in ■reading from the thermometer the highest, being 70 degrees on April 7 while the lowest 4'9 degrees recorded on April 18.
