WARM WELCOME

NETHERTON FUNCTION PRESENTATION MADE J-FORCE MEN FAREWELLED 'The Netherton Hall was filled to its capacity when the Netherton Patriotic Committee organised a combined welcome home and farewell evening recently to men returned home from overseas service and boys of the JJForce on final leave. The 'boys welcomed home were: Messrs'. 'E. C. Durman, J. Roache, S. Pedersen, W. Fisher, E. Johnson, W. Brown, E. W. Harold, *D. Coldicutt, G. 'Sanderson and those farewelled. Messrs. K. Locke, E. S'anders, R. Laurent, J. Murphy, C. 'Pedersen, W. McKain and 0. Potter.

Excellent music was supplied by the Rhythm Trio, and Mr ’C. Townshend acted as M.C. A monte carlo waltz was won by Miss J. Coldicutt and Mi* N. Jurkovich. Euchre prizes were won by Mr Kemp and Mrs Quayle.

After supper Mi’ J. A. Reid, on behalf of the Netherton Patriotic Committee, welcomed the returned men and said how pleased everyone was to see them back- in Netherton. He said that they had all done a very good job and that all were proud of them. He then presented each man with an envelope. Musical honours were accorded after which each man suitably' replied. Mr Reid then said' we had to farewell seven of the younger boys who had joined the J-Force. He presented each boy with a wallet and wished them luck. Musical honours were accorded and each one suitably replied.
