TR YE—FRENCH WAITAKARURU CEREMONY ’ BRTDE IN IVORY SATIN A very pretty wedding which was of great interest to Waitakaruru and district took place at the Waitakaruru 'Church on Easter Saturday. The bride w<as Maisie, youngest daughter of Mrs French, of Pi'p'iroa road, Waitakaruru, and the late Mr G. French, and the groom Cpl. Neville Trye, M.M., youngest son of Mrs Armstrong of New Plymouth and the late Mr Trye. Cpl Trye has not long returned from long service in the Middle East and prior to that he was farming at Waitakaruru. The Rev. G. Crammond was the officiating minister and Mr Bocks, of Ngatea, was at the organ. During the signing of the register Miiss Mavis Edlin sang the solo “I’ll Walk Beside You.”

'The bride made a lovely, picture as she came down the aisle on the arm of her eldest brother Mr Harry French who gave her away. Her gown was made of heavy ivory satin cut on long classical lines. The bodice was crossed over at the front with soft gathers, and tiny buttons from the back neck line to the waist. The skirt was fully flared and the back formed a train. A beautifully embroidered tulle veil fell over her gown on to the train. A dainty spray of pink begonias, white chrysanthemums and dahlias fastened the veil to the head and the lovely bouquet was also composed of the same flowers with the addition of fem. - As her attendants the bride chose her elder sister Alice as bridesmaid, and her niece, little Miss Beverley McClay, as flower girl. Both were attired in frocks of' the same becoming shade of cyclamen georgette. The bodices were made similarly to that of the brides, but, the skirts, which were also long were fully gathered on to the bodice. The bouquets were made to tone in beautifully with clover and pale primrose dahlias and primrose chrysanthemums and ferns. Head-dresses of the same flowers were also worn. The groom was supported by his army friend, Ml* D. McLeod.

'Following the cei’emony a reception for the many friends was held in the Waitakaruru Hall when Mrs French received the guests wearing a smart ensemble in navy blue woollen georgette, self embroidered down the coat. Her shoulder spray was of cyclamen dahlias. Assisting Mrs .French was Mrs I. /Skevington, of Cambridge, sister of the bridegroom who wore a blue ensemble of silk and a shoulder spray of red chrysanthemums. The bride’s going aiway frock was of powder blue woollen crepe with navy blue felt hat, navy accessories. Following a tour of the North Island, Mr and Mrs Trye Will settle at Rotorua where they intend to take up farming.
