SPORTS AT KEREPEEHI " GOOD AXEMEN TO COMPETE BIG DAY NEXT SATURDAY Given fine weather the annual- - meeting* of the Kerepeehi Rao ing and Sports Club which is to be ■ held at Kerepeehi next Saturday should be- one of the best ever staged by the club. The meeting was to have'' - been held on Easter Monday but owing to the weather had' to be postponed until Saturday, May 4. 1 « The secretary of the club, Mr Cliff Bird', advises that there has been par- . . ticular interest in chopping events this year and that many axe-men who’ competed! at Otorohanga on Easter Monday will be at Kerepeehi next Saturday. Entries in the galloping, hunting . and athletic events all promise to be large and competition should be keen' with some excellent racing. The programme will commence at 10 a.m. sharp and there should not be a dull moment throughout the day. Free hot water will be available and . a refreshment booth will be on the' ground. A feature which should appeal particularly to the children will be the merry-go-round which will be in at- j tendance as well as a large number <• of side shows.
