CRIPPLED CHILDREN

WORK IN THE DISTRICT 8 CASES RECEIVING ATTENTION The April meeting of the committee of the Thames Hospital District Subcentre of the N.Z. Crippled' Children .Society was held in the St. John Ambulance Rooms on Tuesday, April 16, being attended by Mr R. S. Carden (president) who was in the chair. Mrs E. Shaw, Messrs P. H. Leigh and H. Morgan, Miss G. Gwilliam (secretary), Miss E. Snelgar (treasurer) and the society’s welfare officer, Miss E. Lerew. Correspondence dealt with included attention to cases in Coromandel, Whitiang’a and Thames. Grants amounting to a total value of £l5 were authorised. The welfare officer reported on eight cases receiving attention, and that schools at Kopuarahi and’ Puriri had been visited since last meeting, no new cases being reported at either place. Miss Lerew also reported on tentative arrangements made in Waihi and at Waihi Beach for the street collection to be held on June 28. Arrangements for the Suib J Centre’s annual general meeting' to be held at the end of this month were finalised.
