SERVICE AT TURUA
address by rev. castle LARGE ATTENDANCE OF PUBLIC There was a large attendance at the'Anzac Day commemoration service held in Turua yesterday. A parade formed up l in front of the Turua Post Office and led' by the Thames Citizens Band and followed by returned servicemen of both the first and; second World Wars and school children, marched to the Turua Hall where the .service was held. The Rev. Castle, a returned padre from the -Second World. War delivered nn inspiring address referring to the visits he had paid to the graves of .New Zealanders who had paid the supreme sacrifice while overseas. Mr R Madgwick read the lesson 1 while the Rev. J. Howat led in prayer.
A number of beautiful wreaths weie .laid by various organisations and private people and these were later taken to the Thames Cemetery.
