A small committee was set up, to arrange details and draw up rules for the club’s, first female sale which will be held on Friday, April 26. The pleasing total of fifty-odd nominations promises a fine sale and show, the latter including classes for yearling and two-year-old heifers.. Entries- for the 1945 Oaks- now standi at 50, and the Waihi Agricultural and Pastoral Association has provided- classes for these heifers at its show in March. Entries for the 19-4'6 Oaks competition close on April 21. Regret was expressed by members over the very short time the New Zealand- Classification Committee has to spend on each farm, and' finally it was decided to forward! the following remit to the annual Jersey Association meeting:—'“That this club recommends that the New Zealand Association classifiers spend more time on each farm when on their annual inspection and explain to breeders the reasons for their awards; or alternatively two full time demonstrators be appointed to cover New Zealand and' to combine educational lectures with their inspection of tattoos at sales and on farms?’ The secretary was- instructed to forward a letter of s-ymlpathy to Mr and Mrs Muir. Mrs Muir recently suffered a very painful accident involving the loss- of an eye.
