CRICKET WITH TE AROHA CENTURY TO R. S. NICOL WAIHI EASILY DEFEATED Paeroa cricket representatives defeated Te Aroha and Waihi teams during the week-end. Playing at Te Aroha the Paeroa team won by 55 runs in a single, innings match, the last two Te Aroha men being dismissed by Nicol in the last over of the game. Features of this game were the splendid century scored by R. S. Nicol who opened' the batting for Paeroa and was undefeated when the innings closed and the accurate bowling of the Te Aroha captain, Townsend, who took eight wickets for 53 runs.

The Paeroa B team easily defeated a Waihi team by an innings and 35 runs. Good bowling performances were put up by Williams, of Paeroa and Monkley of Waihi while the successful batsmen were Murdoch, Dunstan and D. Giddens of Waihi and Carmichael, Mackay, Whisker and Herold of Paeroa. Details:—
