THE Hauraki Plains Gazette. With which is Incorporated THE OHINEMURI GAZETTE MONDAY, WEDNESDAY, FRIDAY. "Public Service.” WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 3, 1945. THANK YOU — LADIES!

Like many other wartime organisations the work of patriotic committees consequent upon the cessation of hostilities' throughout the world, is, happily, drawing to a close. The majority of the community are—or should be—well aware of the faithful services of the members of the Paeroa Ladies’ Patriotic Committee during the years of the war. Never at any time have they flagged or failed in the war work they undertook. No wartime demand has gone unheeded. Week in and week out this willing band of women have given of their best.

Large sums have been raised through mostly the regular and faithful operation of street stalls, etc., but much mole impressive was the ever-ready and willing service of the members of the committee. It is not the intention here to individualise, nor would special mention be appreciated by any one member, where all have given of their best. That these efforts were appreciated by a great many members of the community was evidenced by the regular patronage- at street stalls', etc., and which enabled a valuable regular revenue to swell the district’s annual patriotic quota.

Wonderful work has been done during the years of the war. The attendance at and service extended to the many patriotic functions' and in other ways from time to time the active operation of this district women’s organisation has been of a value that is hard to measure even with words. In the meantime we would, on behalf of the community say: Thank you, Ladies!
