ANNUAL MEETING AT BAY OFFICERS FOR YEAR ELECTED The annual meeting of the Mercury Bay Chamber of Commerce was held in the Whitianga Hall. The retiring president gave a report on the Chamber’s activities during the past year, and expressed satisfaction at the growth and achievements of the chamber in the first year. The election of officers resulted:— President, Mr G. W. Ross; vice-presi-dent, Mr W. Heald'. The present secretary, Mr L. V. Smith was not in a position to accept nomination for the following year. There were no nominations for the position and after some discussion a resolution was passed empowering the president and secretary to appoint a male secretary before the next meeting, the appointment to be approved at the next meeting.
