ACTIVITIES ON THE PLAINS .FOOTPATH AT NETHERTON “ Ordinary maintenance has been carried out on 'all highways. Sealed sections will again receive attention as soon as weather permits,” reported the county engineer, Mr E. HazledineBarber, to the September meeting of the lHauraki Plains County Council. The report continued:— “Grading and application of maintenance metal has been continued 1 on other roads. “Small repairs have been made to Awaiti canal bridge, Kerepeehi, and a bridge on Mangawhero road. “A footpath has been constructed as an extension to School road bridge, Netherton. This is now complete except for hand rails for which we are still waiting for suitable timber. “One man has been employed around Turua township cleaning footpaths, etc. '“Work has been commenced widening Ko,puarahi-'Kerepeehi road. It was not my intention to touch this work this year, but owing to quarry repairs, considered it a good opportunity to commence and at the same time keep the quarry running.” .
