WEDDING BELLS
HANAN—AVOOLVEN BRIDE IN IVORY SATIN GOWN The wedding took place at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Hamilton, of Miss Ailsa Isabell Woolven, only daughter of Mr and 'Mrs W. Woolven, 31 Opoia road l , Hamilton, to Lieutenant Michael Kempthorne Hanan (ex-Middle East), second son of Mr and Mrs F. A. Hanan, of Omahu, Thames Line. The Rev. H. G. 'Gilbert officiated. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore an ivory embossed satin gown, cut on classical lines, with a full skirt fashioned to form a long flowing train. Her ivory silk net ein-

broidered veil fell from a coronet of white orchids and hyacinths, and she carried a bouquet of white hyacinths, orchids and freesias. In attendance as bridesmaids were Miss Mary Stranger, of Hamilton, Miss Jean McDonald, of Patetonga, and Miss Barbara Hanan, of Omahu, sister of the bridegroom, and Miss Judy Cross was flower girl. All wore gowns of pastel blue hailstone spotted organdi, cut on princess l lines with full skirts and horseshoes of blue flowers on each.. They carried gold baskets of blue and pink hyacinths and' cherry blossom. The best man was Mr E, R. Mclnnes, M.M. (ex-Middle East) and Lieutenant Roy Wimmer (ex-Mid'dle East) and <Mr'Peter Hanan (ex-R.A.F. India) were groomsmen.
The reception was held at the Centreway Tea Rooms, Hamilton.
